Wedding Arch Of The Year

Wedding Arch of the year

Wedding arches are a popular and visually stunning element in any wedding, and with the wide range of flowers available in Bali, the arch designs are endless. Bali is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, lush tropical settings, and vibrant culture, making it a sought-after destination for weddings.

Why are wedding arches important?

Traditionally the wedding arch is a symbol of the future home shared by the couple; the arch representing the roof under they share their new journey and life together. A wedding arch is usually the first place your loved ones will see you as a married couple, so your wedding arch serves as a symbolic frame for the moment you exchange your vows and start a new journey together. Your first wedding photos as a married couple are taken in front of your arch, so choosing the flowers, colours and shape of the arch is a personal touch to your wedding – and one that we can help you design!

What kind of arch should we have?

You dream it, we make it happen – and we believe that anything is possible!  Our wedding arches are designed to blend harmoniously with the tropical beauty of Bali; using materials like bamboo, driftwood, flowers, fabric and other local style elements. Couples may choose to incorporate traditional Balinese design elements, like intricate wood carvings or Batik fabric, to infuse local culture into their wedding decor, or go with an ultra modern shape and structure. Everything is possible!

Where should our wedding arch go?

Whether your wedding is garden style, on one of Bali’s beautiful beaches, on a clifftop, or in a stunning villa, your arch frames the photos of you and the stunning background of your choice. We help you find the most stunning wedding locations in Bali – creating the perfect views being framed by your wedding arch.

How do we choose our Bali wedding flowers?

Flowers play a significant role in all Bali weddings, used to decorate wedding arches, table settings, cushions, and the aisle. Orchids, carnations, roses, snapdragons and other tropical blooms can be woven into intricate arrangements and used throughout the wedding design. We have our own in-house florist to create romantic and beautiful floral decorations and bouquets, including for your wedding arch. Did you know we also have a flower bible that we share with all of our couples to help them choose their Bali blooms?

How will our arch look as the wedding goes from day to night?

Wedding arches can be enhanced as the sun sets with subtle lighting; we love using fairy lights, lanterns, or candles, to create a magical and whimsical atmosphere as the sun sets. This soft lighting adds a touch of romance, elegance and poetry to the setting. Your wedding arch can be used as a photo backdrop so you can enjoy it throughout the whole night!

So, what was the arch of the year?

Without question, our couples chose the Snowy wedding arch, for it’s delicacy and fluffiness, simplicity and subtle beauty – baby’s breath blooms with a hint of peacocks woven around the arch and draped softly around the arch. This stunning wedding arch is also popular because it stands out at any wedding venue – it adds delicacy to a beach wedding; a dramatic frame for a green jungle backdrop; and sits back perfectly in any setting.

But don’t take our word for it – scroll through these images to see how this gorgeous wedding arch looks in our Bali wedding venues.

Remember that Bali weddings, like any destination weddings, require careful planning and coordination to ensure a seamless and joyful experience. We work with you on every aspect of your wedding, ensuring you have your dream Bali wedding and creating memories of a lifetime.

Bali Weddings | Wedding Planner in Bali | Wedding Venues in Bali

Bali Weddings | Wedding Planner in Bali | Wedding Venues in Bali

When planning a cake design for a western wedding, you can draw inspiration from classic western elements and motifs. Here are some ideas for a western-themed wedding cake design:

  1. Rustic Charm: Embrace the rustic charm of the west with a naked or semi-naked wedding cake. These cakes have minimal frosting on the outside, exposing the layers and giving it a natural, rustic look. You can adorn it with fresh flowers, greenery, or even edible gold dust for a touch of elegance.
  2. Woodland Theme: Incorporate a woodland or country theme into your cake design. Use fondant to create adorable edible figurines of cowboys, cowgirls, horses, or other western elements like cacti, horseshoes, and lassos.
  3. Barnyard Chic: Combine the idea of a chic wedding with western elements. A tiered cake with a weathered wood pattern and lace details can strike the perfect balance. Top it with a cute fondant cowboy hat or a pair of cowboy boots.
  4. Cowboy Boots: Consider having a smaller wedding cake with the shape of a cowboy boot. Decorate it with intricate piping work and sugar flowers to match your wedding colors and theme.
  5. Western Sunset: Use the captivating colors of a western sunset as inspiration for your cake design. Incorporate shades of pink, orange, and purple, and add silhouettes of cowboy riders or a lone cactus against the sunset backdrop.
  6. Leather and Lace: Mix elements of leather and lace for a western-inspired cake design. Use fondant or edible lace to create delicate patterns combined with edible leather textures and accents.
  7. Western Monograms: Incorporate western-style monograms with the initials of the couple on the cake. It could be in the form of a horseshoe-shaped monogram or a rustic wooden monogram toppers.
  8. Bandana Patterns: Utilize the classic bandana pattern as a design element. You can add it as a border around each cake tier or use it as a backdrop for sugar flowers or other decorations.
  9. Wild West Town: Create a miniature edible wild west town as a cake topper, complete with tiny buildings, wagons, and western characters.
  10. Rodeo Theme: Celebrate the excitement of rodeos by decorating the cake with elements like a bucking bronco, a rodeo rider, or a rope lasso.

Remember to work closely with your chosen baker or cake designer to bring your vision to life. Provide them with pictures and detailed descriptions of your desired western wedding cake design, and they will be able to craft a cake that perfectly suits your special day.

How To Plan Wedding with Limited Budget?

Bali Weddings | Wedding Venues in Bali | The Surga

Bali Weddings | Wedding Venues in Bali | The Surga

Planning a wedding on a limited budget requires careful consideration and prioritization. By making strategic choices and being resourceful, you can still have a beautiful and memorable wedding without breaking the bank. Here are some tips to help you plan your wedding on a limited budget:

  1. Set a budget: Determine the total amount you’re willing to spend on your wedding. Break it down into categories like venue, catering, attire, decorations, etc. Having a clear budget will help you stay on track and avoid overspending.
  2. Prioritize: Identify the most important aspects of your wedding and allocate more budget to those areas. Decide on what elements you want to splurge on and where you can make cost-cutting choices.
  3. Guest list: Keep the guest list small and intimate. Fewer guests mean lower costs for catering, invitations, and venue size.
  4. Off-peak and weekday weddings: Consider having your wedding during off-peak seasons or on weekdays, as venues and vendors often offer discounts during these times.
  5. DIY decorations: Get creative and make your own decorations or enlist the help of friends and family. DIY projects can be fun and save money on costly decorations.
  6. Affordable venue: Look for budget-friendly venues like community centers, parks, or private properties. Outdoor weddings can be charming and often cost less than traditional indoor venues.
  7. Simple invitations: Opt for digital invitations or create your own using free online templates. This can save you money on printing and postage costs.
  8. Second-hand attire: Consider buying pre-owned wedding dresses or suits, or look for sales and discounts at bridal stores. You can also rent attire for the big day.
  9. Potluck or food trucks: Instead of hiring an expensive catering service, consider having a potluck-style reception or hiring food trucks, which can be more cost-effective and add a fun element to your wedding.
  10. Negotiate with vendors: Don’t hesitate to negotiate with vendors to get the best possible deals. Many are willing to work within your budget if you communicate your limitations upfront.
  11. Limit the bar: Instead of an open bar, opt for a limited selection of drinks or a cash bar to control costs.
  12. Borrow or rent decor: Borrow decorations and items from friends or family who recently got married or explore renting options for items like tables, chairs, and linens.
  13. Opt for a smaller wedding party: Having a smaller wedding party means fewer bouquets, boutonnieres, and gifts to purchase.
  14. Photography and music: Look for talented amateur photographers or musicians who may charge less than professionals but still provide excellent services.
  15. Skip the extras: Cut out non-essential extras like expensive wedding favors or unnecessary add-ons that can quickly add to your expenses.

Remember, the most important aspect of your wedding is the celebration of your love and commitment. By focusing on the meaningful elements and making thoughtful choices, you can have a wonderful wedding day within your budget constraints.

Henna: Wedding Traditions of India

Wedding Venue in Bali | Bali Happy Events - Villa Vedas

Henna Art for Indian Weddings

The art of henna (called mehndi or mehendi in Hindi and Urdu) has been practiced in Pakistan, India, Africa and the Middle East for over 5000 years. Some documents date it to over 9,000 years old. Henna has a natural cooling effect, so desert dwellers have used it for centuries to regulate their body temperature. They crushed the dried leaves of the henna plant into a paste, which they soaked in their palms and soles for a cooling effect. As long as the henna stain remains on your skin, you can feel its cooling sensation all over your body. When this stain first disappeared, it left a pattern on the surface of the skin, giving rise to the idea of creating a pattern for decorative purposes. Even mummies wore henna motifs in ancient Egypt, and Cleopatra herself is recorded using henna for decorative purposes.

Henna was a popular body accessory not only for the rich, but also for the poor who could not afford jewelry.

Weddings and Other Henna Traditions

Henna is traditionally used in Africa, Pakistan, India and the Middle East for holidays, henna art birthdays, weddings and other special occasions. The most popular tradition is the mehendi (henna) night, when the bride and her family, relatives and friends gather to celebrate their upcoming wedding. The night is filled with games, music and dance performances that may have been rehearsed months before the event by those closest to the bride. Brides, on the other hand, have extensive henna patterns on their limbs, reaching down to their elbows and sometimes their knees. Bridal patterns can take hours and are often created by multiple henna-her artists. As a rule, guests also receive small motifs (tattoos) on the back of their hands.

Modern brides prefer to get their henna done before their mehndi night so they can enjoy the celebration and still have a darker henna on their wedding day.

According to tradition, as long as the henna stain remains on the bride, she does not have to do any housework. It is said that the darker the dirt, the better the relationship between husband and wife, and the better the mother-in-law. So you can imagine why brides want their blemishes to be as dark and long-lasting as possible.

Temporary Henna Tattoos

For body decoration, the leaves of the henna plant are dried, ground into a fine powder and processed into a creamy paste using various techniques. When this paste is applied to the skin, only the top layer of skin is discolored. In its natural state, it colors the skin orange or brown. It looks dark green (or dark brown with some henna) when applied, but this green paste flakes off, leaving an orange stain. After 1-3 days of use, the dirt will turn reddish brown. The palms and soles of the feet have the thickest skin and contain the most keratin, so they are the darkest. Henna gets darker the farther it is from the hands and feet. The face is usually the area most prone to discoloration.

Henna works on all skin types and tones. Dark skin looks just as good as fair skin, but some people are more tolerant of pigments than others, so it may be noticeable on one skin and not as noticeable on another. Still, henna is a symbol of beauty, art, and happiness, and is meant for everyone.
